If faithfulness includes the whole self, then how should it influence our lives?

Draft definition of "faithfulness"

Consistent and intentional tending of the whole self toward God and God's desires.

This week we unpack "whole self"

Tending with the whole self includes physical, intellectual, affective, and volitional domains.
Argument for whole-self faithfulness
  • We are whole persons.
  • God is creator of all and Lord over all.
  • Faithfulness describes the proper relationship between us and God.
  • Therefore, faithfulness applies to everything we are and everything we do.

One of the important things to keep in mind is that we already know how to be faithful. For example, we know what it means to be faithful employees, spouses, sons/daughters, friends, or students.

What is it then that holds us back?
